Why professional development?

Education professionals turn to Professional Associations to provide them with metrics of professional development. How are you doing meeting those metrics? Many associations suggest that not only their members, but also students, grow in their technological competency. If we are not taking care of ourselves, how do we expect our staff to provide the best educational opportunities for our students?

sample projects

Below we have identified some projects that fall within the Professional Development service. This service is comprised of various workshops and coaching sessions to ensure you and your staff are knowledgeable about using free-to-them systems such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. If your department is tasked with creating learning experiences for students, we would be happy to modify projects to be in a “train the trainer” format.

Facilitating a workshop with individuals, or teams, to understand how appointment software works and how to maintain individual staff member availability.

There is not enough money in our budgets to purchase every fancy software or give us access to every bell or whistle. When there is not money in the budget, it is time to think creatively on how we use the technologies and resources to which we DO have access. This session will expose student affairs practitioners to FREE features that come with Google and Microsoft licenses that will make the every-day job easier. Mail merge, pivot tables, contact QR codes, automation tools, and various others will be explored with concrete, every-day examples given on how to deploy those tools.
